A unified description for nuclear equation of state and fragmentation in heavy ion collisions

چکیده

We propose a model that provides a unified description of nuclear equation of state and fragmentations. The equation of state is evaluated in BraggWilliams as well as in Bethe-Peierls approximations and compared with that in the mean field theory with Skyrme interactions. The model shows a liquidgas type phase transition. The nuclear fragment distributions are studied for different densities at finite temperatures. Power law behavior for fragments is observed at critical point. The study of fragment distribution and the second moment S2 shows that the thermal critical point coincides with the percolation point at the critical density. High temperature behavior of the model shows characteristics of chemical equilibrium.

Modeling Magnetic Field in Heavy ion Collisions Using Two Different Nuclear Charge Density Distributions

By studying the properties of matter during heavy-ion collisions, a better understanding of the Quark-Gluon plasma is possible. One of the main areas of this study is the calculation of the magnetic field, particularly how the values of conductivity affects this field and how the field strength changes with proper time. In matching the theoretical calculations with results obtained in lab, two diffe...

Multifragmentation, Clustering, and Coalescence in Nuclear Collisions

Nuclear collisions at intermediate, relativistic, and ultra-relativistic energies offer unique opportunities to study in detail manifold fragmentation and clustering phenomena in dense nuclear matter. At intermediate energies, the well known processes of nuclear multifragmentation – the disintegration of bulk nuclear matter in clusters of a wide range of sizes and masses – allow the study of th...

Systematics of Stopping and Flow in Au+Au Collisions

Excitation functions of flow and stopping observables for the Au+Au system at energies from 40 to 1500 MeV per nucleon are presented. The systematics were obtained by merging the results of the INDRA and FOPI experiments, both performed at the GSI facility. The connection to the nuclear equation of state is discussed. Elliptic flow in heavy ion collisions near the balance energy

The proton elliptic flow in collisions of Ca on Ca at energies from 30 to 100 MeV/nucleon is studied in an isospin-dependent transport model. With increasing incident energy, the elliptic flow shows a transition from positive to negative flow. Its magnitude depends on both the nuclear equation of state (EOS) and the nucleon-nucleon scattering cross section. Different elliptic flows are obtained...

Microscopic Theory of Multifragmentation in High Energy Heavy-ion Collisions

We introduce a novel N-body approach to describe heavy ion collisions. The nucleons are represented as Gaussian wave packets in configuration and momentum space. They interact via a combination of a Skyrme type potential and a Uehling-Uhlenbeck two-body scattering mechanism. This theory keeps track of the correlations and therefore allows for a selfconsistent theoretical description of the enti...
